Lazy Day
Haven't done much at all today. The boys went back to school so it was quite quiet during the day. Jordan and Kieran didn't get up until 10.15, lazy little tikes lol.The baby was really playing up today and just wouldn't sleep so consequently he got more and more overtired and more and more cranky.I got two DVD's from Play.com today - When Harry Met Sally and Will and Grace: 1st four episodes. Also ordered the Monty Python movie compelation - good price on it.Phoned Murder One to ask about Feb's Romantic Times but it still wasnt in - due to the Xmas hols I suppose. Will phone again next week - also want to order Ian Rankin's Let it Bleed. At long last AOL has found out that we have a fault on our BT line which is probably why we cant get Broadband to download. Hopefully it will be sorted out shortly.Emma had her surgery this afternoon and all went well. She is in some pain but hopefully the morphine will sort that out. Mind you when they get her out of bed tomorrow she will be very uncomfortable and in some pain. Surgery took about 2hrs 30mins. Stephen said she was very sleepy and didn't want him to leave but I think that was probably the anasthetic talking.Well work all day tomorrow and Thursday so had better get to bed for a 5.15am get up.I Love Boy's Hall
Haven't been on lately
Haven't been on lately as the PC decided to pack up and we couldn't get onto the internet. This thing needs throwing out of the window! Well, I am trying to remember what has gone on over the past few days.At long last the snow has all gone and all, weatherwise, is back to normality. Thank God! I had two days off after my nights with nothing much happening at all. I worked a night on New Year's Eve which wasn't to bad. As is usual our flexi third didn't turn up which tends to piss you off but I have to say it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. This was due to the fact that 8 of our beds were empty due to the Norovirus and the ward being closed. That didn't stop 2 or 3 of the remaining patients throwing up and having the squirts though which kept us going through the night, clearing up poo and vomit. The girl's from M1 asked us to join them at midnight for a glass of Asti which we were quite glad of and by the morning I was glad to go home.Sunday was spent dozing most of the day trying to make up for a bit of sleep that I had missed during the night.Today I haven't really done much either. Was on the PC for a little while. Doug upgraded the PC from ME to XP but the stupid thing still wont let us download Broadband and no one can figure out why this is happening. AOL is a joke - we have been trying since October to reinstate Broadband and they are as useless as a chocolate fireguard. They just keep handing us from one person to the next and no-one seems to know what the other is doing.Claire went and picked up Jordan and Kieran today. Em goes into hospital tomorrow and is understandably quite nervous about the whole thing. We will phone in the afternoon to see how the surgery went.Xmas decs. came down today and the place is back to normal - or as normal as it usually is.Spoke to Angela at work as she is working today and tomorrow and she was on yesterday, poor girl.I have also started a new book which I am halfway through. It is 'The Apprentice'' by Tess Gerritsen. This is the second in the series and the first book 'The Surgeon' was really good and so far so is this one. Here is the back cover blurb:'The Surgeon has been locked up for a year but his chilling legacy still haunts the city, and especially Boston homicide detective Jane Rizzoli. For now a new killer is at work and Rizzoli senses something horrifyingly familiar about this murderer's modus operandi. Grim coincidence? Or more terrifying still, could two monsters have somehow made contact? It's when the FBI starts taking an interest in the investigation that Rizzoli begins to wonder just what makes this case so different, so dangerous that the Feds feel the need to get involved. But then the unthinkable happens: the Surgeon escapes. And suddenly there are two brilliant, twisted killers on the loose - master and apprentice, united in their hunt for the most challenging prey of all: the very woman who is hunting them....'I Love Boy's Hall
